Hi Raymond Campbell,
I have take a look at the program and I realise a few things.
First, make sure you insert the disc before running the application. I’m not sure why, but I got a feeling the program won’t refresh by itself after inserting a disc.
Second, make sure that a disc is valid. That means, the disc must not be corrupted that even the PC won’t detect.
Third, use another CD drive. My assumption is that, your drive might not be able to read the disc properly. I used to have this problem with my faulty drive, but when I used another drive, it works out ok.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.

Hi Creighton
Not only you suffer from the problem, other people are experiencing it too. psx4all is a first public release and hence it is not expected to be stable. There might be some games which you cannot run/play.
However, you might want to double check something.
First, you’ll need to change permissions for the BIOS. This is essential.
In the settings tab, make sure you check on “Use BIOS” option and turn it on. You might want to mute the sound for the time being.
Experiment with other games and see if you experience the same problem. Chances are, the game you are trying to rip might not be playable in the emulator.
I am not the author for the emulator hence I can’t help much.
Sorry if I couldn’t be of any help to you.
Cheers.

Hi mcmahon
Then I’m sorry, I suspect either your CD drive is faulty, or your CD is faulty.
Try on another CD drive or CD to see if you get the same error.
Cheers!

Hi mcmahon
It’s ok though. Some CD drives read better (e.g. burning drives/newer drives) maybe you ought to give it a try?
Good luck!
